HomeGearPicks Contractor Bid Estimator

A separate HomeGearPicks contractor tool. Build an itemized bid your client can read, compare, and sign.

v2.0 staged: everything from v1.6.1, plus clients, print templates, a signature pad, discounts, import/export, recurring invoices, expenses, time tracking, a jobs schedule, and saved items. All saved on this device only. No payment processing and no cross-device sync. AI drafts are checked by you before they go out — the AI never sets prices.
v1.6.1: zero paperwork — business profile saved once, voice into client, address, scope, and log, photo-to-lines, AI log polish, message drafts, email bid, print pack, and a daily day sheet for the client. AI drafts are checked by you before they go out — the AI never sets prices.

My business — saved on this device

Fill this in once. It fills the business name on every bid and invoice, so you never retype it.

Clients — saved on this device

Save clients once, then pick one instead of retyping. This list lives on this device only — it does not import your phone contacts.

Job

Voice typing uses your device speech recognition. It only fills the scope text — you check and edit it before the bid goes out.

House scope — rooms

Add rooms one by one. Each room can load its own starter lines, and the bid rolls every room up into one house total. Markup, profit, and tax apply once to the whole house, not per room.

Subtotals by room

Saved items — frequently used lines

Save lines you use often, then add them to a bid with one tap. Saved prices are prices you entered yourself — check them before the bid goes out. They are not supplier quotes.

Guided questions — condition checks before you price

Answer only what applies. Applying answers adds editable starter lines below. Every added price starts at $0 for you to fill in. Nothing here is a supplier quote, and nothing here is a measurement.

Applying again after changing an answer adds the new line. Delete any line you do not need. A Not sure answer adds an inspection line with no price at all. Inspect on site before quoting a figure for it.

Lines — every line is editable

Starter prices are placeholders for you to replace — they are not supplier quotes. Change any quantity, unit, or price. Add or delete lines. The total is always exactly the sum of the lines.

Phased estimator — lines grouped by phase

Each phase below opens and closes. A phase subtotal is the sum of that phase lines after line discounts, before markup, profit, and taxes. The running total is the full bid total from the totals table below.

Running estimate total: $0.00

Change a line Phase field in the tables above to move it to another phase. Type any custom phase name in that field and it becomes its own group here.

Markup, profit, and tax — your rates, change them

Order of the math, so the total is never a mystery: line discounts first, then markup, then profit, then per-line taxes and the whole-job tax, then the total discount last.

Enter your own tax rate if tax applies. Tax rates vary by place and job. This tool gives no tax advice.

Payment schedule

Default: deposit / progress / completion. Never 100% upfront as a default.

Build phases — checklist

Tick phases off as they complete. Phases marked with a licensed-pro note require permits and licensed professionals.

Photos — job documentation

Photos stay on this device — they are never uploaded anywhere. They print with the bid.

Before / after comparison

Compare your own before photo with your own after photo, side by side, with a draggable divider. This does not generate an after image, it is not an AI render, and it never blurs or fakes a photo. Photos stay on this device and are never sent anywhere.

No after photo yet — upload one to compare.

Photo → bid lines

Snap the room and let the AI suggest bid lines from the photo. Lines are estimates only — never measurements — and prices stay at $0 for you to fill in. Your photo goes to Google AI to draft this.

Invoices

Turn this bid into an invoice — the full total or one payment-schedule installment. Invoices save on this device only and print with the page.

One tap: invoice the full total, or invoice one payment-schedule installment. The invoice amount always matches the bid math — check it before you send it.

Recurring invoices

Repeating invoices saved on this device. They are reminders and drafts — nothing is sent or charged automatically. No payment processing.

Expenses

Money spent on jobs, logged by hand. Totals show in Reports.

Time tracking

Start and stop a timer per job. Hours logged show in Reports. Timers run on this device only.

Jobs schedule

Jobs and visits by date, soonest first. This is a list on this device — it does not sync to a calendar.

Import / export

Export everything on this device as one JSON file, and import it back on this device. Imports are checked first — a bad file is rejected with an error and nothing is changed.

Reports

Totals from the bids and invoices saved on this device.

Jobs

Turn a bid into a job, track it day by day, and invoice what is left when it is done. Jobs save on this device only.

AI paperwork

Say it your way — the AI writes it professionally and figures out what goes where. You check every line before the bid goes out.

AI draft — check every line before the bid goes out. The AI never sets prices; you fill those in. Your words go to Google AI to draft this.

Message drafts

One tap writes the message from this bid — you send it yourself, from your own phone or email.

Basis note — on every bid

Save on this device

Saved on this device only — client names and addresses never leave this device.

Email bid opens your own email app with the bid numbers filled in — you add the client and tap send. Nothing is sent from this page by itself.

Signatures

Draw a signature and it prints on the bid or invoice. A drawn signature on a printout is not a certified e-signature and this tool makes no legal claim about it.

Print and sign by hand — the signature lines below still print.
